Obituary for Vivian Nellie Cooper (Lawler)

Vivian Nellie Cooper
October 21, 2020

Vivian N. Cooper, 90, of Pennellville, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, with family by her side. She was born to Martin and Lucille (Goodrich) Lawler, on May 28, 1930, in East Syracuse, NY. Vivian was a very determined woman, worked hard to earn her GED, and became a highly successful hairdresser, working out of her home in Pennellville. She was very active in her community and her church, St. Stephen’s in Phoenix. Vivian belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and the choir, was a founding member of the Pennellville Fire Department and a long standing member of their auxiliary. She enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, gardening and travel. Vivian also loved to cook and never needed a recipe to make an amazing meal. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. Vivian is predeceased by her children, Bob, Steve, and Bill Cooper; and siblings Barbara Devendorf, Mary Lou Brown, Jean Bills, and Martin and Richard Lawler.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Glenn R. Cooper; her children, Glenda L. Blanchard and Glenn R. “Butch” (Jill) Cooper; sister, Jaqueline Caltabiano; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Calling Hours will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020, 4 - 7 PM, at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020, 10:00 AM, at St. Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, NY. Interment will take place in Pennellville Cemetery.
