Virginia A. Lewis, 89, of Lake Alfred, FL, passed away on Saturday

March 7, 2015. A Florida resident since 1994. She was born in

the town of Salina to her late parents Nellie R. (Joseph) Meeks and

Gilbert B. Meeks on October 17, 1925. She was the last child from

a family of 10 children.


Virginia was a fork lift operator for General Electric Company,

Syracuse, for many years.


Predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Lewis in 2000; her son,

William H. Lewis, Sr. on February 4, 2009, nine brothers and

sisters.


Surviving are her granddaughter, Bonnie K. (Lewis) Lough of

Pennellville, NY; two grandsons, William Lewis of Davenport,

Florida, and Jeremy Lewis of Georgia; several grand and

great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Calling hours will be on Friday March 27, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m.,

followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m. Deacon Frank Forish from St. Stephen’s Church Parish, Phoenix, will officiate the service.
