Obituary for Virginia I. Carioti

Virginia  I.
Carioti
, 79, of Phoenix, NY passed away on Thursday July 7, 2016 at St.


Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse, NY.  She was born in Syracuse to her


late parents, Mary (
Amico
) and Richard
Firenze
on August 20, 1936.  Virginia was a


graduate of Fulton High School.


Virginia was a cafeteria cashier for Phoenix Central Schools.  She and her late husband


Butch, operated the family farm,
Carioti
Farms for many years.  Virginia was a parishioner


of Saint Stephen’s Church in Phoenix.


She was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Butch Carioti in 2002; her son


Joseph S. Carioti in 2011; her brothers Tony and Paul; her sister Carmela.


Surviving are her sons and her daughters-in-law, James R. “Chip” and Laura Carioti of


Phoenix, and John V. and Maureen Cariota of Warners, and Michele Carioti of Eugene, OR;


five grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Emily, Julia, and Annabelle;  her brother, Sam


Firenze of Maryland; her sister Mary Grace Ranieri of Baldwinsville; several nieces,


nephews, and cousin; and friends.


Calling hours are on Sunday July 10,  from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan


Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY  13135.  Services will begin Monday July 11,          at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, NY, with the Rev. Philip Brockmyer officiating.


Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, 463 South Seventh St., Fulton, NY  13069.
