Violet M. Pulvere, 86, of Buckley Rd., N.
Syracuse, former Town of Granby resident,
passed away peacefully at the Iroquois
Nursing Home, Jamesville on Saturday,
August 30, 2014. Born in Oswego, NY to
her late parents, Eva Crocker and George
Maddock on July 19, 1928. She was a bank
teller for Merchants Bank Syracuse for 36 years.
Violet was a parishioner of St. Stephen’s
Church, in Phoenix, NY. Her daughters
remember her fondly for her love of nature and
all of God’s creatures. Other passions include:
travel, reading, and being with her family and
friends. Violet was married to Louis Pulvere for
25 years and they remained loyal friends
throughout his lifetime.
Surviving are her two daughters, Maria Gay of
Liverpool, and Theresa Pulvere of San Diego, CA;
two grandsons, David and Brian Gay; one sister,
Erma Payne of Hinmansville; several nieces and
nephews; a godson, William Yochum; and beloved
long-term friend, Nadine Yochum.
Services are on Friday September 12, 2014 at
6 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral
Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135, with
Rev. Philip Brockmyre officiating. Calling hours
will be prior to the service from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in
the funeral home.
