Thirza E. North, 98, of Phoenix, NY passed away on Monday September 10, 2012. Born to her late parents, Eva (Stevens) and Claude Pettingill on November 21, 1913 in Mexico, NY. A graduate of Mexico Academy. Thirza was a technician for Crouse-Irving Hospital, Syracuse.
Predeceased by her husband, Harold North in 1956 and her son James A. North. Surviving are her daughters and son, Carol E. Remington of Phoenix, NY, Eleanor McDermott of Phoenix, AZ, and Ted M. (Sandra) North of Phoenix, NY; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and cousins. Services are on Thursday September 13, at 2 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, NY. Burial in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St.. Calling hours will be from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service in the funeral home, 431 Main St..
