Obituary for Stanley Joseph Pokrentowski

Stanley Joseph Pokrentowski, 88, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Wednesday

March 30, 2016. He was born in Syracuse on October 7, 1927. Stanley served as

an aviation electrician’s mate in the US Navy from 1945 to 1949.

As an electrician for New Process Gear in Syracuse, he worked for many years.

Stanley was a member of the U. A .W. Local 624; also served as the financial secretary

for the retirees organization for 30 years. He was a parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church,

Phoenix, NY; and a member of the Jayco Camping Club.

He was predeceased by his grandson, Andrew Bottino; and his six sisters, Josephine,

Sophie, Helen, Jenny, Regina, and Mary Jane.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Anna May (Soluske) Pokrentowski; his two sons,

Stephen and daughter-in-law Mary Pokrentowski, Ronald and daughter-in-law Tammy

Pokrentowski; his three daughters, Sharon Davis, Donna and son-in-law Richard Korte,

and Susan Manning; his 14 grandchildren, Frank, Chris, Kari, Steven, Jason, Brian,

Joshua, Trevor, Marshall, Cooper, Denise, Michele, Joseph, and Antony; his brother-in-law

Richard (Linda) Soluske; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are on Sunday April 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan

Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135

Services are on Monday April 4 at 8:45 a.m. beginning with prayers in the Allanson-

Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in

St. Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, NY., with the Rev. Philip Brockmyre

officiating. After the mass, Entombment will occur in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery

Mausoleum, 8668 County Route 57, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. US Navy honors

will be offered during the committal service at the mausoleum. “Keep Smiling”
