Obituary for Roy J. Cooper

Roy J. Cooper, 87, of Rochester St., Fulton, NY passed away at Oswego Hospital on Thursday October 11, 2012. Born to his late parents, Florence (Wells) and Roy L. Cooper on Feb ruary 4, 1925 in Fulton. A proud U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Roy was a Technician in Research and Development with the Nestle Co., Fulton for 45 years. He was a member of Phoenix Memorial Post, 5540, VFW, and VFW Post 5335 and American Legion Post 164, both in Boynton Beach, FL; Callimachus Masonic Lodge 369, Phoenix; past member of the Elks Lodge, 830, Fulton; Former president of Nestle’s Recreation, office club and credit union. Predeceased by his wives, Bessie, Eloise, and Petra or Vivi. Surviving are his two sons, Roy L. (Janet) Cooper of Fulton, Gary R. (Brenda) Cooper of Newfane, NY; one daughter, Libby (John) Mc Ginley of Phoenix; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett (Virginia) Cooper of Lycoming, and Arnold (Helen) Cooper of Mesa, AZ; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours are on Monday October 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix. Services are on Tuesday October 16, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, 431 Main St., with the Rev. Tammie L. Nipper officiating. Burial in Mt. Adnah Cemetery, 706 E. Broadway, Fulton, NY 13069. Contributions may be made to VFW Post 5540, Phoenix, or V. A. Medical Center in Roy’s memory.
