Robert T. O’Connell, 58, ” D. J. Bob”, of Phoenix, NY passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday Nov. 7, 2017. Born in Syracuse, NY to his late parents, Betty (Burton) and Robert E. O’Connell on Feb. 1, 1959. He was a graduate of J. C. Birdlebough High School, class of 1978, Phoenix, NY.
Bob was a heavy equipment operator for the Dept. of Transportation, Onondaga County, and had retired. He affectionately known as ” D. J. Bob” due to his part time job. Thus he was an avid music and collector of DVDs. A hugh Oakland Raiders fan as well. Bob adored his
grandchildren Karly and Robert and was their primary babysitter.
Surviving are his loving wife of 15 years, Judy Turner;
his son Michael (Samantha) O’Connell; his grandchildren
Karly and Robert; his step-son Jacob (Britany) Dievendorf,
and Annie Dievendorf.
Calling hours are on Sunday Nov. 12, from 2 to 6 p.m.
in the Pennellville United Methodist Church, 385 Co. Rt.
54, Pennellville. A celebration of his life will be on Monday
Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary with the Rev.
Jeff Hodge officiating.
