Obituary for Paul J. Garrett

Paul  J. Garrett, 90, of South Granby Rd., Fulton, NY, passed away at Oswego Hospital on Sunday March 18, 2012.  Born in Cato, NY to his late parents, Carrie (Dennington) and James P. Garrett on July 29, 1921.  A veteran of WW II, Company C, 48 th Engineer Battalion, 1942 to 1945, European and African Theatres.  Returning stateside, he became a master mechanic with Sealright Corp., Fulton, retiring in 1988, after 43 years of service.  He was a long time member of Cody Vol. Fire Dept..  He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, the former Frances B. Temple in 2003.


Surviving are his daughters, son and in-laws, Paula Eastman of Fulton, Don and Judy Garrett of Albion, Melva and Larry Minier of North Rose, and Gladys Roarke of Fulton; one sister Dorothy and Earl Longley of Fulton; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren;two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins.


Calling hours are from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, NY 13135  Services are at 11 am on Friday, at the funeral home, 431 Main St. with Rev. Carrie Schofield-Broadbent officiating.  Burial immediately following in Jacksonville Cemetery 9250 Fenner Rd., Lysander, with firefighter and military rites.  Contributions: to Alzheimer’s Assoc., “in  loving memory of his late wife Frances B.
