Norma J. (DenBleyker) Brooks, 79, life resident of Phoenix, NY passed
away peacefully at her home, on Sunday November 9, 2014. Born to her
late parents, Viola (Cox) and Neil DenBleyker on October 23, 1935
She was a 1953 graduate of Phoenix High School, Cherry Street.
Norma was a court clerk for the Town of Schroeppel for 25 years. A
loving wife and mother as well. She attended the First Congregational
UCC, Phoenix; and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Phoenix.
Predeceased by four brothers, Neil, Kenneth, Donald, and Richard;
one sister, Doris Frank.
Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Bruce H. Brooks; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Pat Hayes of Phoenix, and Lynne
and Matt Burdick of Syracuse; one son, Brian B. Brooks of Baldwinsville;
one granddaughter, Alyssa Hayes; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours are on Friday Nov. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135.
The funeral service is on Sat. Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, with
Pastor Stan Bennett of the First Congregational, United Church of Christ
officiating. Burial will follow the service in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126
Chestnut St., Phoenix, NY.
