Mary R. (Prue) Abare, of Phoenix, NY, passed away on

Friday October 17, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital,

Community Campus, in the town of Onondaga, NY.

Born in Saranac Lake on December 31,

1934. She was a graduate of Saranac High School.

Mary was parishioner at Saint Stephen’s Church, Phoenix.

Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence L. Abare in 1989;

her daughter Nancy Lynn Abare in 1982; her three sons,

Allen W. Abare in 1982, Gene L. Abare in 2004, and Donald

E. Abare in 2013.

A funeral mass service will be on Wednesday October 29,

2014 at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Stephen’s Catholic Church, 469

Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135, with the Rev. Philip Brockmyre

officiating. Deacon Frank Forish will also take part in the mass.

Burial will follow in Chase Cemetery, 9450 State Route 48,

Phoenix, NY 13135.
