Obituary for June Marie Slate (Pitcher)

June Marie Slate, 77, of Clay, NY, left us unexpectedly on Sunday, after a fall at home on Friday. She goes to join the love of her life and her son in Heaven. She was born on March 29, 1942 in Adams, New York. June was a cashier at Red Onion Grocery and Pizzeria in Caughdenoy, NY, where she worked until she retired. June loved the casino and was known as the “luckiest person around” and she earned that title by winning (3) jackpots and a $5,000.00 winning scratch off! She loved to laugh and enjoyed life. God truly blessed our family with such a wonderful woman for so many years with her beautiful smile, caring ways, and a heart of gold. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be immortalized in our hearts forever. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Edith (Taylor) Pitcher; the love of her life and husband of 47 years, William S. Slate; her twin son, Michael Henry Slate; and brother Henry Pitcher.

June is survived by her twin daughters, Darlene (Robert) Stoutenger and Marlene Williamson; twin son, William Kenneth Slate; grandchildren, Dawn (Chris) Kimball, Rebecca Moss, Jessica Churchill, Mark Williamson, triplet grandsons, Matthew Wiliamson, Martin Williamson, and Mitchell Williamson; great grand-children, William Stoutenger and Cody Schmidt; two sisters, Mary Flement of Adams, NY and Irene Walker of Clermont, FL; brother, Ernest (Shirley) Pitcher, of Dexter, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
