Obituary for June Virginia Hart

June Virginia Hart, 91, of Oneida River Road, Pennellville, passed away on March 7, 2013. Born on May 19, 1921 to her late parents, Emma B. (MIller) and Raymond W. Oswald in Syracuse, NY. She was a graduate of Phoenix High School, Class of 1939. June worked at the NY Ordinance Works (the Project) Town of Lysander, in the Gun and Acid factories during WW II. She also worked in the Baldwinsville Sanitarium and Zahn Manor. Later she become a nurses aide for Andrew Michaud Nursing facility, Fulton, and eventually self employed for a total of 50 years in health care. June was a trustee for Phoenix VFW Post 5540, Auxiliary; an executor for American Legion Post 113, Vernice Suttle, Baldwinsville.


She is predeceased by her husband, Manford G. Hart on August 27, 1982; three sons, Brian in 1957, Larry in January of 2003, and Gordon in August of 2003; a grandson, John Sochia, Jr.; a great-grandson, Richard Hart. Surviving are her eight children and their spouses, Patricia Stocking, Bonnie Earnshaw, Jean Hart, Rose (Rod) Dunn, Sheila Hart, Bruce (Linda) Hart, Karen (John) Sochia, and Kevin Hart; 36 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins; a brother-in-law and his wife, Ken and Mary Hart.


Calling hours are on Sunday March 10, from noon to 4 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4:01 p.m. with Deacon Frank Forish officiating, all in the Allanson- Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135. A spring burial in Chase Cemetery, 9450 State Rt. 48, Town of Lysander. NY. Contributions to: American Diabetes Assoc. or the American Heart Assoc.
