Obituary for James Edward Daniels

James Edward Daniels, 61, of Phoenix, NY passed away on Thursday November 1, 2012. Born to his late parents, Bertha A. (Bittner) and C. Neil Daniels on February 26, 1951 in Erie, PA. A graduate of Ft. LeBoeuf High School, Waterford, PA, where he had been president of National Honor Society; was the “King” at his senior prom; a musician, playing trombone and tuba; and football player. Jim was given a full scholarship at Syracuse University to play for S. U. Football as a linebacker for four seasons 1969 to 1972, graduating in Spring 1973. After football he became a butcher with area grocery stores, including Phoenix Big M, and Solvay Big M. An avid hunter and fisherman. He was a social member of VFW Post 5540. Surviving are his children, Jeffrey Crouse, Rodney Crouse, Kim Crouse, Charles Hoyt, Brian Hoyt; six grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; his five siblings, William A. (Karen) Daniels, PhD, of Marlborough, CT, Patricia A. Daniels of North Royalton, OH, David A. (Linda) Daniels of Waterford, PA, Pamela J. (Steve) Sears of Union City, PA, and Charlene A. Daniels of Waterford, PA; several nieces, nephews, cousins. Calling hours are on Tuesday November 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m with a funeral service at 7 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY. The Rev.
