Obituary for Jack Cromie

Jack Cromie, 83, of Lamson Road, Phoenix, NY, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital,

Syracuse, on Monday March 28, 2016. He was born on August 10, 1032, in

Rotterdam, NY to his late parents, Ruth L. (Gebhardt) Cromie and Gilbert D. Cromie.

Jack served his country in the US Navy from 1951-1955 as a chief petty officer, and

continued his service as a navy reservist from 1963-1984. He was a life member of the

N. E. R. A.. Jack also worked for General Electric Co., Syracuse, retiring in 1988. He

was a former member of the Phoenix Memorial Post, VFW Post 5540, Phoenix.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother William E. Cromie in 1999,

and a brother Gary Cromie in 1944.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Florence L. (Kaulback) Cromie; his son,

Steven G. Cromie and daughter-in-law, Sharon Cromie of Phoenix; his daughter, Patricia A. Mott and son-in-law, William Mott of North Carolina; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother David M. Cromie of Ramrode, FL; a sister Lee Cann of

Pensacola, FL; five nieces and nephews; and friends.

Calling hours are on Saturday April 2, 2016 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Allanson-

Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135. The funeral service

will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Hodge officiating. US Naval honors will be

performed in the funeral home. Burial in the Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander.
