Gordon W. McKay, 79, of Schroeppel (Sand Ridge),
passed away on Thursday Jan. 18, 2018 at his home.
Born in Syracuse to his late parents, Ida (Pickard) and
George McKay on Oct. 26, 1938. A graduate of
Williamsville H. S., Buffalo State Univ., and Oswego
State Univ. in teaching. He was a USAF veteran
from 1956-1960. Gordon was an electrician for Allied
Chemical Co., Syracuse and a substitute teacher in
the surrounding area schools. He was an active member
and trustee for Pennellville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn A.
(Widmer) McKay; his daughter Kimberly Ann McKay of
Portland, OR; his son Christopher G. (Amber L. (Abbott)
McKay of Phoenix; four grandchildren;; one sister, Karen
(Howard) Smith of PA; nieces and nephews.
