Gerald E. “Jerry” Thompson, Sr., 80, of Phoenix, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Upstate Hospital, after a long illness. He was born to Archie and Ruth (Hults) Thompson on October 9, 1940, in Syracuse, NY. Jerry was an outdoor man who loved wild life and hunting. He was a great handy-man and loved working with wood. Jerry always had a good joke or great story to share. He is predeceased by his son, Gerald E. Thompson, Jr.

Jerry is survived by his loving companion of 13 years, Joyce Kasten; four children; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

There will be a private service in the spring. Jerry will be interred at Hillcrest Cemetery, DeRuyter, NY.
