George H. Barnes, 76, of Volney (Fulton) NY, passed away
at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Ctr., Syracuse, NY after a
brief illness on Sunday Nov. 18, 2018. Born to his late parents
Hilda (Lipchure) and George H. Moody on May 12, 1942 in
Buffalo, NY. He was a US Navy veteran serving from 1963 to
1970. George was an agent at Hancock International Airport,
Syracuse, working for I. T. S. security service, Syracuse, NY.
He was predeceased by his first wife Shirley (Friot) Barnes in 2011, and his second wife Linda F. (Champion) Barnes in 2017;
his sons, Peter Barnes who died in 2013, and John Barnes
who died in 2010.
Surviving are his son and his wife Patrick W. & Malinda
Barnes, Sr. of Fulton; seven grandsons; nine granddaughters;
several great-grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; a
brother Mike Moody; a sister Mary; several nieces, nephews,
and cousins.
George loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed his
all of his grand kids so very much. George liked to fish and
he liked watching old western movies.
A “Celebration of Life” gathering will happen at a later date.
