Obituary for Frederick James Green

Frederick James "Rock" Green, Sr., 79 of Phoenix, NY, passed away at Oswego Hospital on Wednesday March 30, 2022. Born in the town of Schroeppel to his late parents Daisy Belle (Kimball) Green Keller and Orlo A. Green, Sr. on January 25, 1943. He was a graduate of Phoenix Central Schools, J. C. Birdlebough High School. .
Mr. Green was employed by Iron Workers Local 60, Syracuse, NY. Later he became a Pro Shooter for the Hoyt Archery Company manufacturer of compound bows, and Heartline Archery, locally. Besides being an avid bow hunter for deer, Jim enjoyed mowing his lawn weekly during the three seasons, and his John Deere tractors. Jim was a member of VFW Post 5540 Auxiliary, Phoenix, NY. Auxiliary services were also conducted.
Besides his parents, Arlo, Sr. in 1951, Daisy in 2007; he was predeceased by his sister Dorothy M. Walts in 2005; his brother Orlo A. Jr. in 2013.
Surviving are his loving family, Mary Frances (Wright) Green of 56 years; his son James Michael Green of Texas; his daughter Tabatha Lynn Green of Clay; two grandchildren Daisy Green and Kristopher Green; and one great-granddaughter Autumn Stacks; his sister Ruth Hughes of Phoenix, NY; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Calling hours are on Wednesday April 6, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135. Private service to follow with Rev. Jeff Hodge officiating.
Burial took place in Pennellville Cemetery, town of Schroeppel, Pennellville, NY
