Edward J. Hanson, Sr. 82, of Phoenix, NY passed away

at home with his family by his side on Saturday Feb. 3,

2018. Born in Oswego, to his late parents, Mary (Genova)

and Raymond Hanson on Mar. 3, 1935. He was the owner/

operator for Hanson’s Towing Service and AAA rep. for 49

years. Memberships include: Phoenix Lions Club, American

Legion 418, Elks Club. Ed was a talented artist and avid

sportsman.

Predeceased by his son Michael Hanson in 1985.

Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Carlene A.

(Hawksby) Hanson; his children, Cheryl (Ron) Makepeace,

Mark E. (Lucy) Hanson, and Edward C. Hanson; seven

grandchildren; several great and one great-great grandchild.

Calling hours are on Wednesday Feb. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m.

in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main

St., Phoenix, NY. A graveside service will be in the Spring

at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton, announced at a later date.
