Earnest L. Milstead, 92, of Pennellville, NY passed away
on Friday February 3, 2017. He was born on August 19,
1924 to his late parents, Mavis (Henson) and Dewey
Milstead in Decatur, IL. A veteran of the U. S. Navy
serving from 1942-1946.
Earnest was a member of the North Syracuse Baptist
Church. He was employed as an electrician for General
Electric Company, Syracuse for 31 years, retiring in 1985.
Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, Gladys (Beebe)
Milstead; two daughters, Diane (John) Navin and Carolyn
(Jim) Comer; one son, David Lee Milstead; seven grand
children; several great-grandchildren; one great-great
granddaughter; two brothers Larry Milstead and Glenn
Milstead; nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday Feb.
7, 2017, at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home,
431 Main St., Phoenix, NY. The funeral service will follow
at 3 p.m. with Pastor Douglas (Patricia) Miller officiating.
A special tribute to Ernest by vocalist Josh Comer will
be included during the service.
Spring burial with military honors will be in Pennellville Cemetery, County Route 54, Pennellville, NY 13132.
