Donald E. “Don” Pittsley, Sr., 86, of Granby, (Fulton) passed away peacefully at his home, with his loving family beside him on Saturday January 2, 2016.
He was born in Fulton to his late parents, Lois (Abbott) and Theodore
Pittsley on May 1,1929.
Don was a carpenter with the Carpenter’s Union Local 747, Syracuse; a
member of the Lysander Grange; Little Utica United Methodist Church Council
and the Men’s Association; honorary member of the Cody Fire Dept., Granby;
an avid camper; in his retirement years, he worked diligently at the
Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander, making improvements on existing grave lots
preparing for the new large section of grave lots, and other tasks.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Molly A. (Goman) Pittsley on
October 16, 2006; and his brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his children, Donald E. (Sue) Pittsley, Jr., Thomas M. (Phyllis)
Pittsley, Deborah L. (Paul) Smith, David A. Pittsley, Theodore M. Pittsley,
and Paula L. (Paul) McKalsen; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren;
three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many friends.
Don dearly loved his grand, great and great-great grandkids. Don was
loving and loved by all. He will be missed.
Calling hours are on Wednesday January 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the
Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135.
Funeral services will be on Thursday January 7, at 10 a.m. in the funeral
home, with the Rev. George Reed officiating.
Burial to follow in Jacksonville Cemetery, 9250 Fenner Rd., Lysander.
