Donald T. Hunt, 65, of Clay, NY,passed away at St. Joseph’s
Hospital Health Ctr.,Syracuse on Saturday April 14, 2018. Born
on May 6, 1952 to his mother, Janice (Peck) and his late father, Dennis
P. Hunt in Lake Placid, NY. He was a graduate of Long Lake
High School, class of 1970. Don was graduate of Paul Smith’s
College, and continued for another two years at Cornell to
further his education. Don was a shift supervisor at Armstrong
World Industries, Volney.for many years.
An avid golfer, Don was a member at Rogues Roost G. C;
received a Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short
Feature, Golf Central Limitless, entitled The Jim Hunt Story;
rendering maple syrup in the “sugar shack”, a family project;
volunteer fire fighter and assistant chief for Volney Fire Dept.;
ass’t scoutmaster for BSA troops in Phoenix and Baldwinsville;
a hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 46 1/2 years, Melissa J. (Shaffner)
Hunt; his children, Amelia (Keith) O’Bryan of Weedsport,
Donald T. (Richelle) Hunt,II of Phoenix, Stephanie (Raymond)
Willis of Tonawanda, Tiffany (Kevin) Barnes of Central Square,
Matthew (Jessica) Hunt of Baldwinsville; his mother Janice Hunt;
four brothers, eight sisters; 13 grandchildren; many nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours are on Thursday April19, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m.
and Friday morning April 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-
Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY. Funeral
services on Friday April 20, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Philip Brockmyre
officiating.
