Obituary for David M. Spano

David M. Spano, 53, of Phoenix, NY, passed away suddenly on Wednesday

May 6, 2015. He was born in Syracuse to his parents, Eleanor (Boardman)

and Leonard C. Spano, Sr. on October 1, 1961. Dave was a graduate of J. C.

Birdlebough High School, Phoenix, class of 1979. He was also a graduate of

B.O.C.E.S. school in Mexico, NY..


Dave was a welder & maintenance for many years with Feldmeier Equipment,

and later with Giovanni Food Co., both in Syracuse. He was an avid hunter

and fisherman, member of CNY Rod & Gun Club, Pennellville; outdoorsman,

and enjoyed boating. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark A. Spano on

April 19, 1978.


Surviving are his son, David L. and his wife Amanda Spano of Faquay-Varina,

NC; his daughter, Cindy M. Spano of Baldwinsville; two grandchildren,

Giavonna and Amelia; his parents, Eleanor (Boardman) and Leonard C. Spano,

Sr., of Phoenix; his sister, Patricia A. Cornell of Phoenix; two brothers,

Chris L. Spano of Phoenix, and Leonard C. Jr., and his wife Lorrie Spano of

Pulaski; aunts & uncles; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and friends.


Services begin on Tuesday May 12 at 8:45 a.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, followed by a Mass of Christian

Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix. The Rev.

Philip Brockmyre officiating. Burial will follow the mass in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St., Phoenix.


Calling hours are on Monday May 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in

the funeral home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.
