Obituary for David A. Day

David A. Day, Sr., 81, of Pennellville, NY, passed away on Tuesday June 20, 2017 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

He was born in Syracuse, NY to his late parents, Loretta

(Poshnan) and Donald Day on June 4, 1936. A graduate of Smith Technical School, he was a engineering manager

for New Process Gear Co., Syracuse, for many years. David served with the 174th Tactical Wing of the N.Y.S. Air National Guard, the 174th. Serving in Berlin, Germany. A talented detailed woodworker, he shared his works of art with family and friends who benefited from his projects.

Predeceased by his daughter Linda K. Storrings on

April 16, 2015. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years Marjorie A. (Matteson) Day; two daughters, Sharon Morgan of Amherst, NY and Elizabeth Day of Tonawanda, NY; one son David A. (Amy) Day of Pendleton, NY; three step-daughters Nancy Ryniec of Champaign, IL, Wendy Allen of Pennellville, NY, and Donna (George) Chesebro of Stanardsville, VA; one sister Carol Cassidy of Wanakena, NY; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Services are at 9 a.m. on Saturday July 1, 2017 in the Central Square Community Church, 833 U. S. 11, Central Square, NY 13036 with the Rev. Tonya Atwood Adams officiating. There are no calling hours. Burial will follow in Wanakena Cemetery, State Rd. 61, Wanakena, NY 13695.
