Cecil L. “Cy” Burton, 70, of Phoenix, NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday June 25, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse,

NY. Born in Syracuse on September 22, 1945 to his late parents, Laura J. (Hurd) and Wayne M. Burton, Sr..


He was a graduate of J. C. Birdlebough H S, Phoenix. Earlier in his career, he was employed at Armstrong Cork Co., town of Volney. The

majority of Cy’s life was spent as a stone mason for Sweet-Woods Memorial Monument Co., Phoenix. He was a life member of the

Phoenix Rod & Gun Club, and enjoyed sportsman activities.


Predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years Susan A. (Sach) BurtonMar. 3, 2008; his brother Wayne, Jr.; and his sister Janet Allen in 2016.


Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Courtney of New Orleans, LA; his brothers, Fred Burton, Jon Burton, Richard “Dick” and

his wife Cindy Burton, and Clark Burton and Debbieseveral nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; canines, Carlton and Cooper.


There will be no services, or calling hours. Private burial in Phoenix Rural Cemetery at a later date.
