Carolyn T. Matzke, 94, of Phoenix, NY, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 Born in Gouverneur, NY. She was a secretary for The Radiological Society of N. A., in Syracuse. A parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church, Phoenix, where she active in Rosary Society. Carolyn enjoyed travel and was a loving wife and mother. Predeceased by her husband, Otto K. Matzke, Sr. on Aug. 27, 2006; a grandson, Peter Matzke; three brothers; one sister. Surviving are her sons, Otto K. Matzke, Jr. of Phoenix, William A. (Judy) Matzke of Whispering Pines, NC, and Robert F. (Dennise) Matzke of Matthews, NC; one daughter, Marilyn M. (Frank) Stephens of Denver, CO; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grand children(plus one on the way); several nieces, nephews, cousins. Mass only on Wednesday February 27, at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, NY, with the Rev. Philip Brockmyre officiating. Burial at a later date in Roosevelt Cemetery, Schroeppel.
