Carolyn A. Caltabiano, 84, of Phoenix, NY, passed away at home peacefully, on
Wednesday March 9, 2016. Born in Phoenix to her late parents, Nina (Sixberry)
and William Neilson on October 3, 1931. She was a graduate of Phoenix High
School, class of 1949.
Carolyn worked for General Electric Co., Syracuse for 10 years. Most of her
life was spent with her family at their agricultural business, A. A. Caltabiano
and Sons. She loved to arrange flowers, and making preparations to go to
market. Carolyn served on the Board of Education for Phoenix Central Schools
for a total of nine years.
Predeceased by her husband, Alfred A. “Fred” Caltabiano, Sr., on May 10, 2000;
her eldest son Alfred A. “Cal” Caltabiano, Jr. on January 6, 2009; as well as her
brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her two sons, Angelo William “Billy” (Patty) Caltabiano of Dover, FL,
Keith R. (Debra) Caltabiano of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Tricia Izyk, William
Caltabiano, Amy Caltabiano, Heidi Caltabiano, and Brian Caltabiano; eight
great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours are on Saturday March 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a
funeral service at 2 p.m., all in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home,
431 Main St., Phoenix. Pastor Karen Marshall will officiate the services. Burial
in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St., Phoenix, NY.
