Carl P. Richardson, Sr., 79, of Phoenix, NY
passed away at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney,
with his family by his side on Friday August
22, 2014. Born in Hastings, NY to his late
parents, Lucy (Barthel) and Leon Richardson
on Feb. 18, 1935.
He was a carpenter and the owner of Carl
Richardson Insulation & Painting, and a life member
of Local 747 Carpenter’s Union, Syracuse. Carl was
a real estate owner and remodeled several Phoenix
area homes throughout the years.
He wintered for over
25 years in Mesa, AZ, where he was active in the Men’s
Club of the Velda Rose Methodist Church, as well as
the local churches in Phoenix, NY, First Congregational
and First United Methodist. He was active in the Phoenix
Sno Drifters; and his passion was extreme for the Special
Needs Playground project, Schroeppel through out the years.
Predeceased by his great-grandson, Patrick Cooper; his
brother, Solomon; his sister Pauline.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Maureen (Gorthey)
Richardson; a daughter, Nancy (Herb) Eaton, his son, Carl P.
Richardson, Jr.; his daughter, Sheryl Cooper and Michael; a
special daughter, Betty Richardson; several grandchildren;
several great-grandchildren; a brother, Edwin (Janice) Soble;
four sisters, Rose Mulchey, Anna Middleton, Catherine Duell,
and Grace Stone; a brother-in-law, Donald Pachaud; several
nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks and
appreciation extended to the staff members of the second
floor at Seneca Hill Manor for their wonderful care of Carl.
Memorial services are on Monday August 25, 2014 at 4 p.m.,
with Rev. Susan Townsend officiating. Calling hours are from
1 to 4 p.m. prior to the service all in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan
Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135.
