Barbara Jane Smithers, 73, former Phoenix, NY

resident, passed away in Oswego, on Sunday May 18,

2014 Born in Phoenix, NY to her late parents, Lenora

(Hollenbeck) and Arnold F. Gibbs, on Nov. 16, 1940.

She was a graduate of J. C. Birldlebough High

School, later becoming a licensed practical nurse

working in the Memorial Hospital Unit, Syracuse, NY.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald G. Smithers, Sr.

of Phoenix; her two sons Ronald G. Smithers, Jr. of

Phoenix, and Johnnathan D. Smithers of Phoenix;

three grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother,

Bert Gibbs of Pennellville; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services only for Thursday May 22, 2014 at

3 p.m., in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St.,

Phoenix, NY 13135.
