Obituary for Alberta Ruth Carpenter (Bennett)

Alberta Ruth Carpenter, 90, of Phoenix, passed away on Sunday evening with family by her side. She valued her family, friends, and faith, and invested deeply in her relationships. Over the years many family gatherings were hosted at “The Big House” during holidays and special occasions. Alberta loved to sew and was an avid quilter. She took pride in making clothing for her children and quilts for various friends, family members, and those in her community. Alberta gave of herself and her resources generously to the needs of the world around her and she was always looking for a chance to make a difference. She was a long-standing member of Little Utica Methodist Church, where she and her husband were married, and in recent years began regularly attending at North Central Assembly of God. Alberta was predeceased by her husband, Carl, in 2008; brother, Bruce Bennett; and son-in-law, John Campfield.

She is survived by her children, David (Lydia) Carpenter, Carole Carpenter, Jayne Coffey, Michael LaMountain, Susan (Rob) Badore, and Gregg (Karen) Carpenter; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Luke and Christine (Ray) Bassett; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 AM - 12 PM, at North Central Assembly of God, 7463 Buckley Rd., Syracuse, NY 13212. Funeral service will follow at 12 PM. Burial in Jacksonville Rural Cemetery, Phoenix, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund for Kids Central at North Central Assembly of God.
